Every band has the same jokes
The bassist nobody can hear. The drummer who thinks “loud” is a dynamic marking. The guitarist who’s still tuning. The singer who’s almost in tune.
Outside the band, nobody gets why any of it is funny. Inside the band, it’s the thing you silently die laughing about at rehearsal.
Offbeat is for the people inside the joke.
Why we exist
I’m a musician. I’ve spent years in rehearsal rooms, on load-ins, and behind a keyboard rig that weighs more than it should, and I’ve heard every one of these jokes a hundred times. I never found a shirt that got them right. Most music merch is either a band logo or a generic “I love music” pun, made for people who like music, not people who play it.
So I started making the shirts I wanted to wear to rehearsal.
What you’ll find here
- The roast: tees and hoodies for bassists, drummers, guitarists, keyboardists, singers and sound engineers. Dry, specific and a little unfair, because the truth usually is.
- The riddles: chord progressions with a missing chord, time signatures with a punchline. If you can solve it, you’ve earned the shirt.
If you have to ask what the joke means, it’s probably not for you. If you got it instantly, welcome to the band.
How it’s made
Every piece is printed on demand, made to order just for you. That means no warehouse full of unsold stock, and every design is something we chose to make rather than something that was left over.
